Each card is a standard sheet of encaustic painting card with a solid black silhouette printed on it. The idea is that you paint over the images with Dehan wax, making sure that the silouetted image fits properly into your wax background. The image will show through the translucent Dehan wax and become part of the picture. As you need a good idea of what your finished painting is going to look like, before you start it, to make sure the silhouette is in the right place, these aren't really for beginners. Card size is slightly bigger than 4" x 3" (10cm x 8cm) so that you have room to 'straighten' things up when you put them in a mount with a 4" x 3" aperture. A pack of 7 assorted images will give you 7 finished paintings. There are about 60 different images printed altogether and I can't cope with sorting out individual ones for each order, therefore you have a choice of a pack of mixed fantasy images or a pack of mixed realistic ones. There is also a pack of 7 Christmas images. All the Christmas packs contain the same cards (there are seven in the pack but two are the same - Santa on his sleigh, so only 6 different images).
