The Bottom
This is a beautiful Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle made by The Wentworth Wooden Jigsaw Company Ltd, England. The image is "Blue Wolves" by Chris Carrick. It's a bit special and a little more challenging than most puzzles.
The Puzzle Tt is both unusual and fascinating. Wentworth make Collector's Wooden Jigsaw puzzles and once you see one, you can understand why people want to collect them. They are intended to be devious and have hidden corners and straight cut pieces in the middle of the puzzle as well as the outside edges. If you find a corner piece, it probably isn't. And they have whimsies..... Whimsies are pieces cut into shapes to reflect the idea of the puzzle, in this case wolves and other canines. They don't help you do the puzzle but they do add to the fun and it's probably easier to start with one of them, than to try and do the outside edges first.
Wentworth reckon that - ".....with other intricacies such as edge pieces with no straight edge, bisected corners and internal straight-sided pieces. It has been noted that together these brain-teasing additions and the 'Whimsies' make one of our 250-piece jigsaws take the equivalent time to master as other standard cut 1,000 piece jigsaws." (Only they don't take up as much room.) As with all their puzzles, this one comes packed in a cotton drawstring bag, in a sturdy presentation box. It has approx 250 pieces. The finished size is 250mm x 360mm (10" x 14") New and Sealed. The boxed size is 175mm x 230mm x 50mm (7" x 9" x 2")
This is what the completed jigsaw looks like, but printing it out, isn't going to help you. The photo was taken of the sample puzzle Wentworth made up. Only they made it up with artwork type whimsies (easel, paint brush, paint tube, paint pot etc) and I wanted canines. So when the real thing was made, I got canines and that's what yours will have. The picture is the same, the shapes of the pieces aren't.
As these puzzles were made specially for me, I will sign the picture on the box. IF you want me too, but that means unsealing the box. I'm only going to open and sign it, if you ask me too, because I can't re-seal it. I'd like to offer to sign the jigsaw itself, but it could take ages to find the right pieces to make up a corner big enough to sign, so the offer is for the image on the presentation box only.
